Lobia Dip Recipe

Tomato Soup

Classic Tomato soup is special diet- friendly. This soup is made with tomatoes as the primary ingredients. It may be served hot or cold in a bowl. It’s smoky, a little bit sweet, and just as creamy or not-creamy as you want it to be. It’s simple – ready in just under an hour.

Tomato soup can be very beneficial for those who are on a weight loss diet. It is rich in water and fiber that keeps you full for longer time. Dieters recommend tomato soup to burn off calories and fat deposits from the body. The main star of this soup is tomato as tomatoes are the source of antioxidant lycopene, which has been linked to many health benefits, including reduced risk of heart disease and cancer.

Cheers to your relaxing, comforting, hug-in-a-bowl tomato soup day!

Tomato Soup

Ingredients:

5 Medium sized tomatoes
½ inch ginger peeled and sliced
1 tbsp butter
¼ tsp black pepper powder
Salt as per taste
1 tsp sugar (if you want sweetness)
2 cup water

Instructions:

Step 1-

At first wash all tomatoes well and chop them.

Step 2-

Heat butter in a pressure cooker over medium heat. Add ginger and sauté them. Add chopped tomatoes.

Sprinkle salt. Now add water and close the lid. Cook for one whistle. Remove from gas and let the tomatoes cool down.

Step 3-

Now blend the mixture to a puree. Sieve it and discard the residue.

Step 4-

Again transfer the puree to a pan. Heat the soup to a boil. Add pepper powder and sugar.

Mix well and turn off the flame. Serve it hot with bread sticks.

Tips:

  • Use fresh and ripe tomatoes. Unripe tomatoes give a sour and bitter taste.
  • If tomatoes soup is sour, you can add more sugar.
  • Here is no need to add any other ingredients because this is a classic tomato soup recipe. You can garnish with basil leaves and cream.
  • If you want more thick consistency you can add 1 carrot. Peel and chop it and add at the time of boiling.
  • If you prefer, you can give creamy and thick consistency by adding a smooth paste of 1 tsp. cornflour and 2 tbsp. water.
  • When tomato soup is served with cream and fried bread croutons, it enhances flavour and texture.
