Aloo Tikki Burger | Indian Style Veggie Burger | Burger Recipe

Aloo Tikki Burger (आलू टिक्की बर्गर) is delicious, lip smacking and Indian style burger recipe that is much tastier and healthier than street foods. This is a great fusion of Indian traditional aloo tikki and western burger. This vegetarian burger is full of flavours and textures. Everyone is familiar with mac aloo tikki burger. It is so easy and simple that you can make easily at home. Nothing is difficult about its process. When your kids have craving for burger, prepare this simple yet delicious burger at home. The best thing about preparing this Burger at home is that you can add your own twist of flavours and ingredients to it.

Aloo Tikki Burger

To prepare aloo tikki burger, we need to have burger buns, aloo tikki, some sliced vegetables, cheese slice and mayonnaise sauce. You need to follow some steps for this:
  • Process of Aloo Tikki
  • Arrange veggies for topping
  • Preparation of spread or sauce
  • Assembling burger

Aloo Tikki-

The process of aloo tikki is very similar to traditional aloo tikki chaat. I have made aloo tikki packed with veggies. Aloo tikki is made from potatoes, onions and some green veggies like beans and capsicum. Some shredded carrots, boiled peas or other veggies of your choice can be used in it. Roast the vegetables so that extra moisture has evaporated. Corn flour or rice flour is used to bind them. These are later coated with breadcrumbs and then shallow fried to make it crispy. You may deep fried them. You may add some soaked poha which keeps them crispy.

Topping-

Topped with sliced tomato, onion and cucumber, these veggie burgers became healthy and delicious. If you like you can add beetroot, cabbage leaf and lettuce. Fresh vegetables give flavor and crunchy taste.

Preparation of spreads-

As a spread, I have used tomato sauce and eggless mayonnaise. If you don’t have mayonnaise, use thick curd or malai. Add some salt, black pepper powder and tomato sauce in malai and mix. Believe me, it will give amazing flavor and no one can find that you have used malai.
Even you may use any type of cheese spread like garlic cheese spread or spicy cheese spread. Add some tomato ketchup, black pepper powder and red chilli flakes in cheese spread. You can use this mixture in place of mayo. My kid likes cheese slice in burger so I have used but it is your choice.

Burger Buns-

Any type of burger buns can be used like whole wheat grain or multi grain burger. Burger buns can be homemade or ready made. I have tried the burger bun recipe, it was perfect. I will share the recipe of burger bun with you soon.
You can serve this as breakfast or evening snacks. When I prepare this burger, my family take it as a full meal. Try this homemade, healthy and fresh burger recipe.
This recipe has lots of steps so I couldn’t click the many pics.
