To make chilla sandwich, chilla is prepared firstly using gramflour, chopped onion, chopped capsicum and some basic spices like ajwain, heeng, salt and red chilli powder. Then grill 3 bread slices on a pan or griller. Besan chilla is used to make one layer. Then place 2nd slice over it.  Some chopped onion, mayonnaise, tomato ketchup, cabbage leaf and paneer slice are used to make 3rd layer.

You can use any type of bread like wheat bread or multigrain bread. I grilled the slices before assembling but you can grill or toast later.  You can make them without toasting.
