Sugar Free Anjeer Mawa Barfi Recipe 

Sugar free anjeer mawa barfi ( अंजीर मावा की बर्फी ) is a perfect and delicious combination of anjeer and mawa ki barfi. Raksha Bandhan is around the corner and this festival is simply incomplete without delectable sweets and desserts. As we know all sweets and desserts dishes are loaded with sugar and they can effect on the insulin level of diabetes patients so I have tried a sugar free barfi recipe that is full of health benefits.

Dried Anjeer (figs) are packed with essential minerals (like potassium, calcium, iron), antioxidants and dietary fibres that helps to improve health. They are good for people suffering from diabetes. As figs are loaded with fibre, they help with proper insulin function in diabetes patients. To make sugar free anjeer mawa barfi we needs only anjeer, mawa, milk and some dry fruits of your choice. Anjeer have its own sweetness so here is no need to add any sugar.

Anjeer mawa barfi is prepared by cooking some chopped dried fig with milk and mawa. The addition of dry fruits like cashew, almonds and pistachio make it a digestive and energy bar. It is flavored with cardamom powder.

This anjeer mawa barfi is perfect for rakshabandhan and Diwali. This sweet is low in calorie and high in nutrition. Prepare this for a party or get together and serve your guests these healthy and scrumptious barfi.

Ingredients:

2 tbsp. ghee
1 cup chopped dry anjeer (fig)
¾ cup grated mawa
2 cup milk
2 tbsp. chopped almond
2 tbsp. chopped cashew
2 tbsp. chopped pistachio
¾ tsp. green cardamom powder
A small pinch red food color

Instructions:

Heat a pan and add ghee.


Add chopped dried anjeer. Cook on low flame for 1 minute.


Add milk and cook over low to medium flame. Stir continuously until mixture thickens.



Add grated mawa and mix properly.


It will start leaving the pan and hold shape.


Add chopped cashews, almonds, pista and cardamom powder. Mix properly.


Add a small pinch of food colour. Mix well and stir continuously.


When mixture looks dry enough to hold the shape, turn off flame.


Apply oil in a pan and transfer mixture.
Gently tap to spread and form an even layer.


Now let it cool down completely. Loosen it with a knife and give desired shape.
Garnish with cashews.


Then separate the pieces and serve.


Tips:

  • Don’t overcook else it will become hard.
  • You can add nuts of your choice like raisins, peanuts and dry coconut.
  • You may add dates also.
